And while that might be true, isn’t it interesting that we end up choosing our jewelry from designers who have no idea who we really are? In effect, it appears that we choose our jewelry from a set of given choices – the pieces we see - and we assume that somewhere from within that set of choices is a piece that reflects who we are and how we typically behave, when in fact we haven’t really contributed to the design at all. It seems that we settle for what is the closest match…what we like, whether it reflects our real selves or not.
But what if we could choose a set of characteristics for our jewelry that is typical of our personal and behavioral traits? What if we could have a say in the design of our jewelry that really is a reflection of who we are?

Unlike the experience of choosing your jewelry from designs in a catalog or a showcase – designs that may or may not represent your true personality - Norman David Designs involves you from the very start in the unique process of actually designing your own jewelry based on your own cognitive and behavioral characteristics. Answers to just a few, carefully assembled questions about you, allow us to compile a personality profile that is yours and yours alone. Then we integrate that knowledge with research on personality and preference for object characteristics, such as shape, color, symmetry and others. The result: jewelry that is custom-created for you and represents you, yourself, as accurately as can be. The jewelry you wear is therefore not a “best match” for you from an array of pre-determined choices…it is a made-to-order image of your inner self. No other jewelry in the world can provide a better representation of who you are.

The Soul of Wood
People who like wood have been described in a vast number of ways. Our research has uncovered sources that describe wood lovers as funny, kind, powerful, fearless, determined, confident, decisive, driven – and more. Wood lovers are often portrayed as people who see the bigger picture, seek out the best in things; people who are logical, reasonable, independent and yet unapologetic. Most impressive of characteristics associated with a love for wood appears to be inescapable anger at situations that are unfair or that mistreat others. Who would not be proud to include one or more of these outstanding traits in their personality profile?
That is why wood – specifically stunning exotic woods of all types, colors, and textures – are central to all jewelry created by Norman David Designs. Precious metals – albeit less prominent – are woven beautifully into our creations. And, if our client expresses a special interest in such, we are happy to integrate into our designs precious or semi-precious stones in subtle and balanced proportion. The effective blend and tasteful fusion of these elements into our jewelry assures a totally unique appearance that runs the gamut from robust to delicate, is always elegant, and gives the wearer a feeling of being profoundly and naturally whole and complete.

But today, we do not sit idly by. We at Norman David Designs stand in solidarity with those who carry the torch of truth and uphold the enduring values of human dignity and compassion.
In that spirit, we offer a collection of timeless symbols of the Jewish faith — elegant, powerful emblems of resilience and identity. Among them are exquisite designs of the Magen David (Star of David) and the Chai (חי), whose letters numerically equal 18 — the symbol of life itself.

While we offer an outstanding array of beautiful jewelry for everyone, we at Norman David Designs would like our jewelry not only to look exquisite, but also to be an expression of your inner selves. We think that if you could actually influence the degree to which your jewelry actually represents who you are, it would make your jewelry so much more uniquely personal. Why rely on someone else who doesn’t even know who you are to create a real match between your personality and the extension of that personality that is your jewelry?
Unknown to most of us, there is a very significant body of research that relates certain personality traits to preferences for characteristics such as shape, color, complexity, precious metals, gemstones, and other aspects of objects – including those that can be combined creatively in the design of stunning jewelry.
That is why we are proud to provide you with the unique opportunity to integrate your personality, your characteristics, and what makes you you into the design of the jewelry you wear...jewelry that reflects who you really are…not someone else’s concept of who you might be.
The Process
We want you to know that this process is based on a solid scientific procedure. Our founder and the inspiration behind this creative effort is a Cognitive Psychologist - a Psychologist who has extensive experience in how people perceive things, the effects of their experiences on their behavior, how they make decisions, what they pay attention to, and other detailed thought processes. He is the mind behind seamlessly integrating your unique personality with your equally special jewelry.

You answer a few questions on the forms we now present

We read and interpret the data you provide to us and we compare it to our knowledge base

We determine your preferences along a number of dimensions that are relevant to jewelry design, and, finally...

We create - based on what you've shared with us - the best representation of who you are as reflected in the most original, beautiful, and personally unique pieces of jewelry that you have ever owned.

Along with your spectacular jewelry piece, you will receive a small pamphlet explaining how we used your personality profile to design and create your jewelry.

Two important things to remember:

Personality is made up of many many aspects of your self. The personality profile that we use to create your jewelry reflects only a small, specific part of who you are. We are not in the business of psychological analyses for any reason other than creating your jewelry.

Rest assured that even the limited personality profile that we develop is never ever made available to anyone - it stays with us and with you only.

You don't have to answer all the questions, but the more questions you answer the greater the likelihood that the piece will reflect who you are...the better you will Share Your Self when wearing it.
When you finish creating your JPP, press the SUBMIT button at the bottom of the form to get your data to us. Again, the contents of your JPP will be used only to create your unique jewelry. We will not share this information with anyone...ever.
Please make sure your email address is filled in at the top of your JPP. This is so we can attach an identifier to your JPP, which allows us
1) to know who we're designing the piece for
2) to get in touch with you if we have any questions that we think are important to the design
3) to give you the opportunity to be involved in the design and creation of your unique piece, if you so choose.
